Mammoth Green Fuels Project

Oman announces landmark venture with 25-gigawatt project that will super-charge the renewable energy capacity in Oman. The project will produce million of tons per year of truly non-carbon green fuels. The project combines wind and solar energy to produce green hydrogen. The project is led by OQ, Oman's leading energy company, along with InterContinental Energy, the leading dedicated green fuels developer, and EnerTech, a Kuwait government-backed clean energy investor and developer.

Solar Rooftop Initiative Launch​

The authority for Public Services Regulation is developing a framework to allow the adoption of rooftop solar PV by residents, commercial entities in Oman. As of date, OPWP can buy rooftop PV generated electricity from consumers.

Policies To Support Renewable Energy Projects
​
The authority for Public Services Regulation developed policies to encourage the adoption of renewable energy such as solar power as an affordable option as compared to international price of gas. The policies mainly aimed to promote the solar energy consumption as part of Oman's 2040 vision. It is recommended that 10% of Oman's generation mix must come from renewable energy sources such as wind and solar by 2025.
